The GP Registrar is a
qualified doctor who is training to become a GP and is working at
the practice for up to one year.
Practice Manager
Mrs Anne Peacock
is responsible for the day-today administration in the Practice
and liaises with all members of staff.

Mrs Lisa Griffiths may be seen by appointment for:
- immunisations and holiday vaccinations
- dressings/removal of stitches/minor injuries
- blood pressure checks, diet and weight control
- ear syringing (after check by the doctor)
- blood and urine tests (at doctor's request)
- cervical smears
Our Health Care Assistant (HCA) is fully trained to take blood,
blood pressure readings, ECGs, small dressings and simple nursing
procedures.
Receptionists
Our team of five
Receptionists and Receptionist Co-ordinator Karen Mead are the
front line of our service and will do all they can to help you.
They are responsible for making appointments, taking requests for
visits, repeat prescriptions, getting notes ready for surgeries,
requests for hospital transport, sorting mail and answering
general enquiries et. They have to follow the instructions of the
doctors and at the same time satisfy the patient needs,
occasionally under difficult circumstances, all of which makes it
a very demanding and exacting job.
Secretary
Mrs Marcia Staines is
responsible for the secretarial requirements of all Doctors,
Nurses and Practice Manager, including NHS and private referrals,
insurance documents, invoices and general correspondence as well
as the day-to-day liaison with all staff and stationery
housekeeping.
Computer Co-ordinator
Mrs Yvonne Wiltshire is
responsible for the patient registrations, pathology and
out-of-hours links, patient care recalls (elderly, diabetic,
asthmatic, heart disease and smears), input of investigations and
correspondence onto the computer and computer housekeeping and
back-up.
District Nurses - Tel: 9380293
Our District Nurses are
based at Lawrence Weston Clinic and provide nursing care to people
in their own homes. This includes anyone with short-term,
long-term or terminal illness. They work in close liaison with the
doctors who will arrange a visit where appropriate.

Our midwife, Mrs Tina
Spearing works with the doctors and provides care and advice to
all pregnant women. She holds a weekly ante-natal clinic at the
Surgery by appointment. She is involved in caring for women during
labour and caring for mothers and babies throughout the post-natal
period.
Health

Our team of Health
Visitors are based at Shirehampton Health Centre. They monitor
child development and advise on feeding/behaviour problems,
immunisations etc.
Community Nurse for older people - Tel: 9823205
Our community nurse for
the older people, Ms Kate Hawker is based at Lawrence Weston
Clinic and is available to give advice and help to our elderly
patients who may need support within the community.
